Discovering E Colours: A Journey of Self Recognition

Updated: Jun 7, 2025

No, E Colours is not referring to food additives...

In 2021 I completed an E COLOURS PDI assessment, and ever since it has been an eye-opening experience! If you have no idea what I am talking about take a look here.

Understanding that we and others communicate and like to be communicated to in different ways all of a sudden starts to make sense.

Why do they act that way?

I am sure we have all thought "why does this person act a certain way" about others or maybe you gravitate towards others who are more inline with your own e colours. In our work lives and our personal lives.

Understanding that I am primarily a Thinking Socialiser (Yellow over Green) or a Relating Socialiser (Yellow over Blue) depending on the day as my secondary colours are very close to one another % wise, has helped me recognise some of my core traits that drive my passion for helping others.

Me as a Yellow/Green

As a Thinking Socialiser, I thrive on creativity and analytical thinking. I love connecting with people and enjoy the challenge of making a positive impact in their lives.

Whether it’s helping businesses find the right internet connectivity or telephony solutions, or sharing some of my own personal achievements and encouraging others to embrace a healthier lifestyle... my goal is to encourage connectivity and support - as human beings too, not just digitally.

Me as a Yellow/Blue

On days when I resonate more with the Relating Socialiser, my natural warmth and enthusiasm shine through. I find joy in being around others and have a deep desire to help, whether through mentoring or simply being a friendly ear.

My optimism fuels my interactions, and I value and cherish the relationships I build along the way. My journey of self-discovery has not only reinforced my commitment to my role as a key man/key person at the communications company I co run, but also highlighted the importance of balance. I love to help. It is part of my personality.

Unsure if E Colours is relevant to you?

Key Benefits of Doing an E-Colors PDI

Heightened Self-Awareness

  • Knowing your E-Colors provides insights into how you communicate and how others might perceive your style. This can help you adapt your approach to connect more effectively with colleagues, friends, and family, reducing misunderstandings and fostering better relationships.

Understanding Others

  • The tool isn’t just about you it also increases your awareness of others’ personality styles. This understanding can make teamwork smoother, help resolve conflicts, and create a more inclusive environment by appreciating diverse perspectives.

Practical and Immediate Impact

  • The E-Colors framework is designed to be simple and immediately applicable. Even a short session or a quick questionnaire can provide actionable insights you can use right away, whether it’s improving a team meeting or navigating a challenging conversation.
